SEGA Europe has announced the acquisition of Two Point, the studio behind the strategy . Since January 2017, SEGA Europe has been the publisher of Two Point Hospital under the Searchlight developer talent program. Therefore, the purchase of a studio is not at all surprising.
Recall that Two Point Studios was founded in 2016 by natives of Lionhead (series Fable, Black & White) Gary Carr (Gary Carr), Mark Webley (Mark Webley) and Ben Hymers (Ben Hymers). The studio team consists of seventeen professionals, behind which are Black & White, and Fable, as well as work at Creative Assembly, Lionhead and Mucky Foot. Two years after opening, Two Point Studios released the comedy hospital management simulation Two Point Hospital on PC.
In the SEGA camp, the studio is developing unannounced projects, which Two Point Studios promises to present in the coming months. “We are delighted to welcome Two Point Studios to the extended SEGA family. This relatively young British team has already achieved worldwide recognition, which makes it incredibly attractive in terms of investment. We realized we had to act quickly,” said Gary Dale, President and COO of SEGA Europe. “Over the past two years, the Searchlight team has done a fantastic job of working with the studio to see the release of a great new game with incredible potential.”
