Chinese electric vehicle maker Byton, which has faced expansion funding problems and a series of staff changes following the departure of co-founder and former CEO Carsten Breitfeld, said it had received more than 50 pre-orders worldwide for its new electric crossover model.
βWe plan to launch our first production vehicle this July,β Byton co-founder and CEO Daniel Kirchert told Reuters, adding that the company aims to produce 10 vehicles by the end of the first half of 000.
Among those backing Byton's plans are Chinese retailer Suning, automaker FAW and battery maker Contemporary Amperex Technology Co.
