The State Corporation Roscosmos announces that by order of the General Director of PJSC RSC Energia named after S.P. Korolev, the Council of Chief Designers for the Soyuz-5 space rocket system was formed.
Soyuz-5 is a two-stage rocket with a sequential arrangement of stages. It is planned to use the RD171MV unit as the first stage engine, and the RD0124MS engine as the second stage engine.
It is expected that the first launches of the Soyuz-5 rocket will be carried out from the Baikonur cosmodrome. In addition, the launch vehicle will be maximally adapted for launches from the Sea Launch floating space center, and later from the Vostochny space center.
The Council of Chief Designers for the Soyuz-5 missile system was established to provide general technical management of work, coordination and collegial resolution of scientific and technical issues.
The Council included representatives of the following enterprises: PJSC RSC Energia named after V.I. S.P. Korolev, JSC RCC Progress, JSC RKS, FSUE TsNIIMash, FSUE TsENKI, JSC NPO Energomash, JSC KBKhA, JSC NPO Avtomatiki, FSUE NPC AP, ZAO ZEM Β» RSC Energia, VSW β branch of JSC GKNPTs im. M.V. Khrunichev, JSC Krasmash, FKP SRC RCP, FSUE NPO Tekhnomash and SSC FSUE Keldysh Center.
