Sharp unveils Aquos Sense 4 and Sense 4 Plus mid-range smartphones with IGZO displays

Sharp Corporation introduced mid-range smartphones Aquos Sense 4 Plus and Sense 4, equipped with proprietary IGZO displays, which are based on oxides of indium, gallium and zinc. Panels of this type are distinguished by good color reproduction and low power consumption.

The new products are based on the Snapdragon 720G processor containing eight Kryo 465 cores with a clock speed of up to 2,3 GHz, the Adreno 618 graphics accelerator and the Snapdragon X15 LTE modem.

The Aquos Sense 4 Plus comes with a 6,7-inch 2400 x 1080 Full HD+ display, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. On the front, there is a dual selfie camera with 8 + 2 million pixels. Power is provided by a 4120 mAh battery. Dimensions are 166 Γ— 78 Γ— 8,8 mm, weight - 198 g.

The Aquos Sense 4, in turn, received a 5,8-inch display with a resolution of 2280 Γ— 1080 pixels, 4 GB of RAM and a 64 GB drive. The single front camera is made on an 8-megapixel sensor. The battery has a capacity of 4570 mAh. The device weighs 176g and measures 148 x 71 x 8,9mm.

The older novelty received a quadruple main camera, which included a 48-megapixel unit (f / 1,8), a 5-megapixel module with wide-angle optics (115 degrees), a 2-megapixel macro module and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. In the second device, the main camera has a configuration of 12 + 12 + 8 million pixels.

The arsenal of smartphones includes Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 5.1 adapters, an NFC chip, a USB Type-C port and a 3,5mm headphone jack. The case is protected from moisture and dust according to IP65/68 standards.
