The sequel to Rune will not be released in early access — the authors promised a full version this year

Action role-playing game in the Scandinavian entourage Rune, a continuation of the 2000 slasher of the same name (previously was called Rune: Ragnarok) planned release in Steam Early Access in September last year. However, the release was postponed, and recently the authors unexpectedly announced that they had decided to completely abandon early access. Instead, the game will immediately be released in the full version, but you will have to wait a bit. In any case, this will happen in 2019.

In an ad published in Twitter, developers at Human Head Studios have said they will be able to skip the early access stage thanks to additional funding. All the features listed in the roadmap will be included in the launch version. At the same time, the studio has already drawn up an extensive plan for post-release content, which will be published later. The release date will be confirmed "very soon" (Steam indicates that the premiere will take place "this winter"). The authors thanked the players for their patience, understanding and interest in the studio's projects and promised to answer their questions.

Rune was scheduled to be released from early access no later than a year after the release (that is, until October 2019). The early version was supposed to include quite a lot of features and content: "fierce battles in the spirit of the original Rune", a large open world with many islands and biomes, a basic arsenal of weapons (swords, axes, spears, hammers, bows - all in different variations), a variety of enemies (both people and monsters), a change in the time of day, a communication system with the chosen patron god (characteristics, features of weapons, etc.), crafting (weapons, armor, runes, etc.), a ship building system and the ability to move on them, part of the quests, divine curses and blessings. In addition, support for official PvP and PvE servers was announced.

The final part of the game, including the battle with Loki, the creators intended to add later. Also during the early access period, they were going to bring new locations, quests, creatures, gods, weapons, pets, mounts and many other features. Probably, now all this is to be expected already at the start. In addition, the action is likely to have time to properly optimize.

In the sequel, players will have to challenge the insane Loki and free Midgard, which plunged into chaos and darkness with the end of the world. They will have to fulfill the orders of the patron god, destroy giants, monsters, wild animals, warriors and those who have risen from the dead.
