The next patch will protect buyers of the PC version of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne from missing saves

"An issue was found where save data was not converted to the new format if the save data and the game were not updated after October 30, 2018, when Kulve tarot was added via a patch," Capcom said.

The corresponding patch (it has already been assigned the number 10.12.01) will be released in the β€œcoming days”, and before the arrival of the saving update, the developers are advised to close Monster Hunter: World if the game prompts you to create a new save file at the entrance.

In addition to providing protection against missing saves, the upcoming patch will also will reduce the load on the CPU, which was "inexplicably high" in Iceborne.

As the players figured out, performance problems in the PC version of the add-on were related, among other things, to the operation of the anti-cheat system. By using simple manipulations the mechanism can be turned off, which in some cases leads to an improvement in the situation.

Iceborne was released on September 6, 2019 on PS4 and Xbox One, and on PC on January 9, 2020. The addon adds a new region, 14 types of weapons, a "master" rank of task difficulty and several types of monsters.

Despite technical troubles, after the release on the PC, sales and shipments of Iceborne reached 4 million copies. The base game, as of January 2, 2020, has sold 15 million copies.
