The developers submitted an application for trademark registration "Mad Box" to the European Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) on January 3, 2019. French mobile and browser game company Madbox filed a protest on March 25, saying "there is a potential for public confusion". It is not known if the studio was under obligation to change its name, but Slightly Mad Studios chose to do so by withdrawing its trademark application.

However, the developers have a lot of time to come up with a new name, since the launch of mass production of the console should take place in 2-3 years.
