Rumors: Elden Ring will not be released in June and will use its own engine

ResetEra forum user under the pseudonym Omnipotent once again shared supposedly insider details about Elden Ring. This time the information concerned the game engine and the expected release date.

Rumors: Elden Ring will not be released in June and will use its own engine

Contrary to rumors, Elden Ring will not use Unreal Engine. According to Omnipotent, the game is based on the same, albeit modified, technology as From Software's previous work.

According to the informant, compared to previous projects, the engine received some improvements (for example, in terms of lighting), but you should not expect 60 frames / s from Elden Ring on consoles.

As for the timing of the release of Elden Ring, Omnipotent rejected the assumption of one of the users about the June premiere, but did not “reveal internal dates that are not shared for a reason”.

Rumors: Elden Ring will not be released in June and will use its own engine

Formerly Omnipotent I toldthat when creating Elden Ring, the developers were inspired by the chamber scale Shadow of the Colossus, but similar gameplay isolation supposedly won't be in the game.

Elden Ring announced as part of E3 2019, but since then almost nothing has been heard about the project from official channels. The game is being developed for PC, PS4 and Xbox One and doesn't even have a release date yet.

Elden Ring is a joint project between the Japanese studio From Software and the author of the book cycle A Song of Ice and Fire, George R. R. Martin. The writer helps fill the game world with believable mythology.
