Currently, the PlayStation 4 is the only console platform where only a limited, older version of Minecraft is available. The new one is based on another engine known as Bedrock. In fact, this is the engine of Minecraft: Pocket Edition, released in August 2011 on the Xperia Play smartphone. It was written not in Java, but in C ++, as it was also created with an eye on iOS, which does not support the first programming language.
