The source was unable to provide CCN with any further details, however, given the available information, the journalists made the assumption that the announcement and release of Steep 2 could take place during 2020.

It is not known what platforms Steep 2 will be released on. However, the potential proximity of the game to the premiere of next-gen consoles may indicate Ubisoft's plans for new devices.

Less than six months passed between the demonstration to the public and the release of the original Steep. Ubisoft announced the game in June 2016 at his E3 conferenceand premiered in December of the same year.

Post-release support for Steep continues to this day: in early January 2020, the developers announced the launch fourteenth season, which includes additional in-game events and challenges.

In October 2019 Ubisoft decided to postpone Watch Dogs: Legion, Gods & Monsters, and Rainbow Six Quarantine are all three games now slated for release before April 2021. How this will affect the possible release of Steep 2 is unclear.
