Monacelli's statement contradicts that of Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan, who promised a free upgrade for PS4 versions of PS5 launch games, including Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

It is worth noting that Ryan specifically did not include Marvel's Spider-Man: Remastered, and as such, the re-release of the superhero action game Insomniac Games is not considered a new game. Nevertheless, the case is remarkable.
