Like the first generation XT model, the XT2 is a battery-powered, weatherproof camera (IP65 rating) designed for indoor and outdoor use. The device is powered by two AA lithium-ion batteries. According to Amazon, the Blink XT2 can last up to two years without changing batteries.

In addition to standard security camera features such as support for talkback and Alexa voice commands, Blink XT2 features advanced motion detection and 1080p video recording.

In addition to making simple requests using Alexa, you can watch Blink XT2 cameras live on your Amazon Echo Spot, Echo Show, or Fire TV by typing "Alexa, show me [your camera name]."

The Blink XT2 camera is available for pre-order for $89,99. The price includes access to free cloud storage with no monthly fees attached to it.

If you plan to install multiple Blink XT2 cameras, Amazon offers a $99,99 kit that includes the camera itself and the sync module needed to combine Blink wireless cameras into a single system.

The Blink XT2 will ship in the US on May 22nd. In Canada, the novelty will go on sale this summer.
