Epson has announced the Moverio BT-30C "smart" glasses, designed to work primarily with augmented reality (AR) applications.
The novelty is equipped with a high-resolution OLED display (the exact value is not given). Users will be able to see digital content and the real world at the same time.
The glasses can be paired with an Android smartphone or a Windows PC. The USB Type-C interface is used for connection.
Third-party developers will have access to the Moverio SDK to create custom AR apps. When used in tandem with an Android smartphone, users will be able to download content from the Google Play Store over cellular networks.
The delivery set of the novelty includes special dimmers, which will provide an immersive effect when watching video materials.
The Epson Moverio BT-30C Smart Glasses are now available for pre-order with an estimated price of $500. Deliveries will begin in June.
