Huawei Mate X 2 smartphone with a flexible screen will receive a new design

In February of this year, at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 exhibition of the mobile industry, Huawei introduced the flexible Mate X smartphone. As LetsGoDigital now reports, Huawei has patented a new device with a flexible design.

Model Mate X is equipped with an 8-inch display with a resolution of 2480 Γ— 2200 pixels. When the device is folded, the sections of this panel are in the front and rear parts. In other words, the Mate X folds with the screen facing out.

The now patented device (presumably the Mate X 2) has a different design: the flexible display will fold inward. In this case, the device will receive an additional screen on the back of the case, which the owner will be able to interact with when the smartphone is closed. Thus, in terms of display configuration, the new Huawei will be similar to the flexible Samsung Galaxy Fold.

Huawei filed a patent application last summer, but the development is registered only now. As you can see in the patent images, the design of the gadget provides for a special vertical section with a multi-module camera.

It is possible that Huawei will announce a flexible smartphone with the proposed design early next year. However, the Chinese company is silent about the relevant plans.
