Internet sources have published information about the characteristics of the flexible display of the Galaxy Fold 2 smartphone, which Samsung is expected to announce on August 5 along with the devices of the Galaxy Note 20 family.
The first-generation Galaxy Fold smartphone (pictured), a detailed review of which can be found in , equipped with a 7,3-inch flexible Dynamic AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2152 Γ 1536 pixels, as well as an external Super AMOLED screen with a diagonal of 4,6 inches and a resolution of 1680 Γ 720 pixels.
The Galaxy Fold 2 (unofficial name) will have both panel performance upgrades. So, the size of the internal flexible display will increase to 7,7 inches. Its resolution will be 2213 Γ 1689 pixels, the aspect ratio is 11,8:9. This panel will have a refresh rate of 120Hz.
The external screen will grow in size up to 6,23 inches diagonally. Samsung will use a matrix with a resolution of 2267 Γ 819 pixels, an aspect ratio of 24,9:9 and a refresh rate of 60 Hz.
At the same time, it is noted that Samsung is forced to abandon the implementation of support for the branded S Pen in the new product. They walk that the main screen of Galaxy Fold 2 will be covered with ultra-thin glass (UTG) manufactured by Corning. However, as tests have shown, such a coating cannot properly withstand the constant impact of the stylus. Therefore, it was decided not to include support for the S Pen in the Galaxy Fold 2.
