Nokia-branded smartphone maker HMD Global has entered into a licensing agreement with Qualcomm, one of the world's largest suppliers of mobile device chips.
Under the terms of the agreement, HMD Global will be able to use Qualcomm's patented technologies in its third-generation (3G), fourth (4G) and fifth (5G) mobile devices.
Network sources note that Nokia smartphones with support for fifth-generation mobile networks are already in development. True, such devices will enter the commercial market, most likely, not earlier than next year.
