Sony Corporation has revealed the latest sales data for the PlayStation VR virtual reality helmet for the PlayStation 4 family of game consoles.
The named headset, recall, was released in October 2016, immediately gaining popularity among users. The system is said to allow the formation of a "three-dimensional hyper-realistic environment". Control in games and applications of virtual reality is carried out using the DualShock 4 manipulator or the PlayStation Move controller.
The PlayStation VR headset passed the 1 million unit mark in June 2017. Six months later, in December, Sony doubled the sales volume of the gadget, bringing it to 2 million units. And in August last year, it was announced that sales exceeded 3 million units.
And now it is reported that the PlayStation VR headset has reached the bar of 4 million units sold: as of March 3, 2019, sales exceeded 4,2 million units.
Sony also announced that 25 new VR games will be released soon. Among them are Falcon Age, Ghost Giant, Everybody's Golf VR, Blood & Truth, Trover Saves the Universe, etc.
