In recent days quite a bit of regarding one of the next generation consoles - Sony PlayStation 5. However, for interesting technical characteristics, many, including us, did not pay attention to Mark Cerny's words about the cost of the future console, and now I would like to correct this omission.
In fact, no specific figures were named, and it is hardly possible at the current stage of development. The lead architect for the upcoming Sony console said: "I believe we can release it (console - ed.) at a suggested retail price that will be attractive to players, but will take into account its expanded set of features."
These words immediately suggest that the PlayStation 5 may be more expensive than the current PlayStation 4 Pro, although the price will correspond to its capabilities. Unfortunately, to this Mark Cerny added: "That's all I can say about this." That is, there is no certainty on the issue of price yet, but it is unlikely that the future PlayStation 5 will be a very affordable system, although Sony is unlikely to overprice.
Recall that the PlayStation 4 at the start of sales back in 2013 cost $399. In the same amount, but already in 2016, Sony evaluated the improved PlayStation 4 Pro console. Now, many agree that the future PlayStation 5 console will be priced more at $499. This is very likely, considering what hardware will be used in the novelty: an eight-core Zen 2 processor, Navi graphics and a fast 1TB or even 2TB SSD. Recall that the new Sony console should debut in 2020.
