Sony Interactive Entertainment has introduced an attachment for the DualShock 4, which will expand the functional aspect of the gamepad. Thanks to DualShock 4 Back Button Attachment, the controller will receive two programmable buttons on the back side. This is a very convenient solution that Microsoft has used in the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller and other manufacturers of gaming accessories.
According to the description of the attachment, it will have a high-precision OLED screen, which displays information about the current settings. The two rear buttons will be able to perform up to 16 different actions to provide the ability to jump, slide or reload without lifting your finger from the right stick.
A dedicated button will allow you to reassign the back two buttons on the fly, as well as save and select up to three settings profiles. The attachment covers the 3,5mm port for headsets, so it sits on top of it. Finally, Sony Interactive Entertainment stated that the product was tested on βall your favorite PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR gamesβ and was also created taking into account the ergonomics of the DualShock 4.
It is unknown when the DualShock 4 Back Button Attachment will go on sale in Russia, but in the US and Canada the launch of the attachment will take place on January 23, 2020. It will cost $29,99.
