Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian has announced his departure from the company. About it on his personal website. He published a video message and asked to appoint an African American to his place.
Ohanian explained that he was leaving the company for the sake of his wife (he is married to Serena Williams), his daughter and the country. He emphasized that he wants to have an answer when his daughter asks "What did you do?". Ohanyan urged not to stop "everyone who is fighting to fix the broken nation."
The businessman also promised to use the proceeds from Reddit shares to help the African American community. The first step is to donate a million dollars to Colin Kaepernick's Know Your Rights program.
