After years of leading the PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds team, PlayerUnknown himself decided to move on. Studio PUBG Corp. announced that Brendan "PlayerUnknown" Greene is leaving the game development team. Shooter art director Tae-seok Jang and the rest of the team will continue to update and improve the project.

Brendan Green will move out of PUBG Corp. headquarters. in Seoul, Korea to a new office in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. This division will be called PUBG Special Projects. Greene will remain as Consulting Creative Director of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, but will mainly focus on creating new projects.
“The last five years of my life have been devoted to the royal battle. From the first days of working on the mod, I wanted to be able to create my vision of the royal battle, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, said Brendan Green. “It has been an incredible journey and our game has reached heights that I never dreamed of. Seeing the game evolve into what it is today was a dream come true and I just [can't] fully thank our fans and the incredible PUBG Corporation team."

PUBG Special Projects aims to create new games within the company. “We are tasked with researching, experimenting and creating new technologies, tools and gameplay. Together with a team of developers and researchers, we will explore new opportunities for interaction and communication in the game space, ”Green explained.
