Demand for printing devices in Russia is falling both in money and in pieces

IDC has summed up the results of the study of the Russian market of printing devices in the second quarter of this year: the industry showed a decrease in supplies both compared to the first quarter and compared to the second quarter of last year.

Various types of printers, multifunctional devices (MFPs), as well as copiers are taken into consideration.

During the second quarter, about 469 print devices were delivered to the Russian market, with a total value of about $000 million. The fall in unit terms was at the level of 135%, in monetary terms - 9,3%.

The market for laser technology on an annualized basis decreased by approximately 4,9% in unit terms and by 5,8% in monetary terms. In the inkjet segment, shipments fell by 21% in unit terms and by 19,3% in monetary terms.

In the monochrome sector, unit deliveries in the 20ppm speed category were down 3,8%, 21-30ppm were down 28,3%, and 70-90ppm were down 41,7%. All other categories showed growth.

In the color segment, shipments of 1-10 ppm speed category devices grew by 49,1%, 11-20 ppm β€” by 10,8%. All other categories showed growth of about 5%.
