Washington sees no difference between core and non-core categories of equipment for 5G networks and will reconsider information-sharing cooperation with all allies using components from China's Huawei, Robert Strayer, deputy assistant secretary for cyber and international communications, said Monday and State Department information policy.
βThe U.S. position is that allowing Huawei or any other untrustworthy vendor into any part of the 5G telecommunications network is a risk,β Strayer said.
He emphasized that if any countries allow Huawei to build 5G networks and maintain them, the United States will have to reconsider the possibility of exchanging information and establishing agreements with them connections.
