Valve is expanding the integration of Steam with cloud services. She recently released the Steamworks Developer Documentation with details on how the Steam Cloud Play beta functions. In addition, Steam now directly supports the GeForce Now cloud service.
Support for GeForce Now on Steam doesn't mean that all the store's games can now be run on the NVIDIA service, but now it's easier for developers to add their projects to the cloud service catalog. Valve is also aware of the issues that NVIDIA encountered with the launch of the service. For example, publishers and numerous studios started supporting GeForce NOW only after the company started charging users for the service.
"Cloud services allow Steam users to run their library of games one at a time in the cloud, just like they can on their local PC," in the documentation. "Developers must manually select the games they want to make available on GeForce NOW."
In the future, Valve plans to introduce support for other cloud services.
