The student team of Moscow State University won the second victory in a row at the International Student Programming Olympiad (ACM ICPC). In second place were the Americans from MIT, and in third was the team from the University of Tokyo.
The Russian team included Mikhail Ipatov, Grigory Reznikov and Vladislav Makeev, Elena Andreeva was the coach. It is curious that last year the guys won the ACM ICPC in exactly the same lineup. In total, 135 teams took part in the competition. At the same time, we note that according to the rules of the competition, in 2020, Moscow State University will have to recruit a new team.
At the last stage, the participants solved 10 tasks out of 11, which were then checked by a special set of tests. A task was considered completed if it passed all checks. The solution was allowed to use Java, C, C++, Kotlin or Python.

Note that in addition to Muscovites, several other teams from Russia also took part in the competition, which also took quite high places. For example, the group from the Higher School of Economics won 14th place, and the ITMO team (St. Petersburg) took 23rd place. In general, Russian students have been winning the championship since 2012. Over the past 19 years, Russian teams have won the ACM ICPC 13 times, with students from ITMO and St Petersburg University among the winners. At the same time, the leaders in the number of victories are the Americans - they won the championship 17 times.
Recall that the International Student Programming Olympiad has been held annually since 1977. Prior to that, since 1970, competitions were held at the University of Texas, and in the 77th, the first final was held, which was held as part of the annual ACM conference on computer science.
