Super Meat Boy Forever won't be released until the end of the month

Team Meat studio promised to release a sequel to Super Meat Boy in April, but still will not have time to complete the project on time. The developers announced the postponement of the release date on their Twitter.

“We've been making the final improvements to Super Meat Boy Forever at record speed while maintaining our health and sanity. We will continue to work at the same pace, so we won’t have time to finish everything in April. Forgive us. We could sacrifice our minds and our lives, but that would be a stupid decision,” the authors admitted.

The announcement of Super Meat Boy Forever took place in 2014, then the project was simply a mobile version of Super Meat Boy. Over time, the scale grew and the game turned into a full-fledged sequel, which will be released on mobile devices and on PCs and consoles. It will feature procedurally generated levels that adapt to the player's skills and abilities.

The developers are well aware of how much the audience dislikes ports, but they are glad that they can afford it. “Team Meat doesn't work for some evil corporation that gives us orders and forces us to do things. We are happy that we are in complete control of the situation and can protect ourselves from overtime,” the authors add. According to them, they won’t have to wait too long - the release will take place “shortly after the end of April.”
