Synology has launched the DiskStation DS220j, an entry-level NAS designed for home or office use.
The novelty is built on a quad-core processor Realtek RTD1296 clocked at up to 1,4 GHz. The amount of DDR4 RAM is 512 MB.
You can install two 3,5" or 2,5" SATA 3.0 drives. The maximum supported internal capacity is 32 TB.
The device is equipped with one Gigabit Ethernet (RJ-45) network port and two USB 3.0 connectors: all interfaces are concentrated in the back. A 92mm fan is responsible for cooling. The storage measures 165 x 100 x 225,5mm and weighs 880g (without drives installed).
The novelty is running Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM), a network operating system that provides private cloud services. With Synology DS220j's extensive network protocol support, you can seamlessly share files across Windows, macOS, and Linux platforms. The Cloud Sync tool keeps your Dropbox, Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, Baidu, and Box in sync with your home DiskStation.
Synology Drive Client tools provide real-time or scheduled backup of important folders on computers to prevent accidental deletion and protect against ransomware.
