Taiwanese companies ask organizers to reschedule June Computex

Until now, the management of the non-profit organization TAITRA, which is responsible for holding several annual exhibitions and events in Taiwan, has not announced anything about rescheduling Computex 2020. It has become known that exhibitors have requested this.

Taiwanese companies ask organizers to reschedule June Computex

As noted by DigiTimes, among Taiwanese companies intending to take part in Computex 2020, there were many who wanted to delay the exhibition, which, according to the current schedule, should begin on June XNUMX. Last week, Taiwanese authorities restricted the ability of foreigners to visit the island, and if such measures are maintained until April, the preparatory work of foreign participating companies could be disrupted.

Taiwanese companies do not want to take part in Computex 2020 under quarantine conditions; they also talk about the inability to attract a sufficient number of participants and guests from abroad. Last year, Computex was attended by 42 people from 495 countries. The coronavirus is now raging in many of the most β€œrepresentative” countries, and there is no confidence that its spread will be brought under control by June.

In the history of Computex, which dates back to 1981, there has already been a case of the exhibition being postponed to September due to a previous epidemic that covered the Asian region in 2003. Around the world, 8098 people have been infected, and the number of deaths has reached 774. The current coronavirus infection is much more serious in scale: 339 people have already been infected, and the number of deaths has reached 709 cases. There is a high probability that Computex organizers will be forced to postpone the event to a later date.
