Tele2 and Ericsson will increase the yield of mariculture farms using the Internet of Things

According to Tele2 CEO Sergey Emdin, the operator announced the decision to develop the digitalization of the mariculture industry in September last year at the Eastern Economic Forum.

The project provides for the placement of special sensors in the waters of marifarmers to measure the physical and hydrochemical parameters of water, which are critical for the cultivation of marine hydrobionts.

“Via the Tele2 mobile network, information from sensors will be sent to the Ericsson IoT platform in real time. A partner of Tele2 Ericsson has developed a digital solution for data collection and analysis, a client application and alert algorithms for the project,” the operator said in a statement. In the event of a critical change in aquaculture habitat indicators, a notification will be sent to the marifarmer.

According to the operator, “digital online monitoring solutions in the world practice increase the survival of mariculture by 20-30%.”

Sergey Emdin said that the sensors would be installed by the end of April. It is planned to test different cooperation configurations so that in the future the best option can be offered to customers.
