We are talking about devices in the 2,5-inch form factor with Serial ATA 3.0 interface. Such products have a thickness of 7 mm, which makes them suitable for use in both desktop and laptop computers.

The drives use 64-layer 3D TLC NAND flash memory microchips (three bits of information per cell) and a Marvell 88SS1074 controller. So far, the series has featured 250 GB and 500 GB, as well as 1 TB and 2 TB versions.

The new WD Blue 3D NAND SATA SSD, codenamed WDS400T2B0A, is designed to hold up to 4TB of storage. Sequential read speed up to 560 MB/s, sequential write speed up to 530 MB/s. The IOPS (input/output operations per second) is up to 95K random reads and up to 82K ​​random writes.
