The WD Blue 3D NAND SATA SSD family of solid state drives will soon be expanded with a flagship model, according to online sources.
We are talking about devices in the 2,5-inch form factor with Serial ATA 3.0 interface. Such products have a thickness of 7 mm, which makes them suitable for use in both desktop and laptop computers.
The drives use 64-layer 3D TLC NAND flash memory microchips (three bits of information per cell) and a Marvell 88SS1074 controller. So far, the series has featured 250 GB and 500 GB, as well as 1 TB and 2 TB versions.
The new WD Blue 3D NAND SATA SSD, codenamed WDS400T2B0A, is designed to hold up to 4TB of storage. Sequential read speed up to 560 MB/s, sequential write speed up to 530 MB/s. The IOPS (input/output operations per second) is up to 95K random reads and up to 82K ββrandom writes.
Using the WD SSD Dashboard software, you can monitor available capacity, operating temperature, SMART attributes, and other device characteristics.
The WD Blue 4D NAND SATA SSD 3TB will be available for an estimated price of $500.
