The head of AMD could not avoid mentioning future 7nm products at the quarterly reporting conference, and therefore decided to make the bulk of the statements about them in the prepared part of his speech. As Lisa Su explained, preparations for the announcement of 7nm products are in full accordance with the previously scheduled schedule. In the discrete graphics segment, the debut of Navi architecture carriers is scheduled for the second half of the year, to be more precise, for the third quarter of this year. The first products of the family will be intended for fans of computer games.

The situation with the warehouse stocks of video cards, which turned out to be excessive after the decline in interest in cryptocurrency mining last year, improved in the first quarter. AMD expects the retail video card segment to show growth in sales and revenue in the second quarter, and the release of Navi in ​​the third quarter will only strengthen this trend.

But the head of AMD explained that the 7nm Navi graphics solutions, which will debut in the third quarter, will be located below the Radeon VII, which is currently offered for $699, in the price hierarchy.
