Tesla has agreed to cooperate with the South Korean company LG Chem and the Chinese CATL to provide batteries for its cars.
Tesla, which already has a battery supply agreement with its longtime partner, Japan's Panasonic, said its contracts with LG Chem and CATL include much smaller battery supplies.
Let's remember that last year Reuters reported about Tesla's negotiations with LG Chem on the supply of batteries for cars that will be produced at its plant in Shanghai. The US electric vehicle maker will also source batteries from CATL in the future, a source told Reuters.
