Tesla begins accepting pre-orders for China-made Model 3

Network sources report that Tesla has begun accepting pre-orders for the purchase of Model 3 electric cars that will roll off the assembly line at the Gigafactory in Shanghai, China. The cost of the car, which is available for order exclusively in the Middle Kingdom, in the basic configuration is 328 yuan, which is approximately equal to $000. It is worth noting that the announced price of the Model 47 is 500% lower than the cost of electric cars imported from the United States. The Chinese-made Model 3s are Standard Plus vehicles with a range of 13 km. According to Tesla's plans, the first deliveries of the company's electric cars assembled in China should begin in 3-460 months.

Locally produced vehicles will allow the company to avoid the duties that are imposed on imported goods. Note that as the trade war between China and the United States develops, growing duties are becoming an increasingly tangible problem for the manufacturer. In addition, the shift in production will help the company speed up the process of delivering electric cars. According to Tesla CEO Elon Musk, the need to ship cars from a single plant in Nevada is "the most difficult logistical problem that he has ever seen."

Tesla also announced the start of accepting orders for the purchase of Model 3 in Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand and Macau. The manufacturer is now looking to ramp up deliveries after a tough period when quarterly production fell from 90 to 000 electric vehicles. Because of this, the company's profit sank significantly and a loss of $63 million was announced. Recall that the construction of a plant in Shanghai was launched in January this year.
