The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China announced on Friday that Tesla has been granted permission to sell locally manufactured Model 3 long-range electric vehicles in China.
In a statement, the Chinese agency indicated that we are talking about vehicles with a range of more than 600 km on a single battery charge, while the standard version of the Model 3, currently produced at the Shanghai plant, has a range of 400 km without recharging.
Tesla began delivering Model 3 electric vehicles from its $2 billion Shanghai plant in December last year.
