The company's management identifies several main factors that made it possible to achieve such a significant price reduction. First of all, the company's offerings were standardized. Now buyers will be able to purchase panels in 4 kW increments, i.e. an array that includes 12 panels. In addition, the company undertakes the installation of equipment. Due to this, the manufacturer hopes to revive interest in its products from buyers.

Statistics show that in the first quarter of 2019, the company's solar energy business is at its lowest level in recent years. During the first quarter, Tesla sold solar panels with a total capacity of 47 MW, while for the same period last year this figure was 73 MW.

Company representatives note that in the second half of 2019 they plan to increase sales of solar roofing. Solar panels, which resemble conventional roofing materials, were announced in 2016 and were later installed on the roof of Elon Musk's home. Despite problems with the durability of solar roofing, which forced the company to delay the start of sales, the direction looks very promising. Overall, the company expects sales growth to improve its position in the second half of 2019.
