Platinum Games has announced that The Wonderful 101: Remastered will be released on PC, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on May 22nd. The date is valid for Europe, while in North America the project will go to retail on May 19th. The game will cost β¬44,99. Pre-orders should open soon.
Unfortunately, Platinum Games has not provided additional funds to translate The Wonderful 101: Remastered into languages ββother than English, French, Italian, German and Spanish. The project will be voiced only in English and Japanese. Along with the announcement, The Wonderful 101: Remastered game designer Hideki Kamiya released a message to the audience.
βWe released The Wonderful 101 about seven years ago,β Kamiya began. β I got promoted and became a member of the executive board of Platinum Games, but in those days I didnβt think much about business (okay, I admit that I may still not think). I devoted all my attention to creating games that met my personal standards. The Wonderful 101 was the sixth game I directed in my entire career. Unfortunately, I cannot say that it was a great success from a business point of view.
But I also never thought of her as a failure. I didn't think then, and I don't think now. This is because, for a game creator, a game is only a failure if it frustrates the players who play it. From the very beginning, The Wonderful 101 didn't reach a large enough audience for me to clearly say whether it was a failure or not.
So no matter how The Wonderful 101 first hit the market, I see the re-release as a chance to show it to the world again. I really want to see how the players will appreciate it.β
The Wonderful 101 was released for the Nintendo Wii U in 2013. Platinum Games launched
The Wonderful 101: Remastered will offer not only updated graphics and increased frame rates, but also redesigned controls and some changes.
