Thermalright has released another updated version of its popular Macho CPU Cooler (HR-02). The novelty is called Macho Rev. C and from the previous version with the designation Rev. B, it is distinguished by a faster fan and a slightly different layout of the radiator fins. Recall also that the first version of Macho HR-02 appeared back in 2011.
Cooling system Macho Rev. C is built on six nickel-plated copper U-shaped heat pipes with a diameter of 6 mm. They are assembled in a nickel-plated copper base, polished almost to a mirror finish. The tubes housed a fairly large radiator, recruited from 31 aluminum plates with a thickness of 0,4 mm, the distance between which is 3 mm. In the predecessor, we note, the distance was 3,1 mm. The radiator has an asymmetric shape, due to which it should not overlap the slots for memory modules.
The 140 mm Thermalright TY-147AQ fan, built on a plain bearing, is responsible for blowing the radiator. It supports PWM speed control and can rotate from 600 to 1500 rpm. The fan is capable of providing airflow from 28,32 to 84,97 CFM, while its noise level does not exceed 23 dBA. Note that Macho Rev. B fan had a speed of up to 1300 rpm and, accordingly, had a lower performance.
Cooling System Dimensions Macho Rev. C is 140 × 128,5 × 158 mm and weighs 1040 grams with a fan. By the way, if desired, the user will be able to attach another fan to the novelty: the corresponding mounts are included. The novelty is compatible with almost all current Intel and AMD processor sockets, except for the oversized Socket TR4. According to the manufacturer, the new version of Macho is able to cope with the cooling of processors with a TDP of up to 240 watts.
Cooling system Macho Rev. It will go on sale in Japan on May 24 for $68. In Europe, sales should begin in mid-June. The European price is not specified, but note that the Macho Rev. B is currently on sale here for about 40 euros.
