US President Donald Trump said a settlement on Huawei could become part of a trade agreement between the US and China, despite the fact that the telecommunications firm's equipment is recognized by Washington as "very dangerous".
The economic and trade war between the United States and China has escalated in recent weeks with higher tariffs and threats of more action. One of the targets of the US attack was Huawei, which the US Department of Commerce to the “black” list (entity list). In this regard, the Chinese company is prohibited from purchasing technology and components from American companies without the approval of the US government.
The US says Huawei poses a threat to the country's national security, while Beijing accuses the US of "bullying" the company.
“Huawei is something very dangerous,” Trump told reporters at the White House on Thursday. “You look at what she did from a security point of view, from a military point of view. Very dangerous".
However, Mr. Trump said there is a possibility that the company could be part of any trade agreement with Beijing.
“If we were to enter into an agreement, I would imagine that Huawei could be included in some form or some part of it,” the US President admitted.
