Transport company Traft plans to launch virtual passports for truck drivers in 2020

The transport company Traft plans to complete work on the creation of a unified system for evaluating and rating truck drivers in 2020. The electronic database of drivers and their cars will be presented in the form of a virtual passport, which will describe in detail the compliance with modern requirements for the carrier.

Traft noted that the list of criteria will be quite extensive. Among them: compliance with the deadlines for car delivery, compliance with traffic rules, the condition of the car, the ability to use a mobile application, politeness and sociability, and so on. Initially, information will be processed through the Traft-Online system, and later, as the system grows, other applications, as well as tachographs, will be connected to it.

As a result of evaluating the driver, the system will assign him an overall score, but customers will still be able to choose more priority criteria for themselves and focus on them. Traft believes that transparency in driver ratings is very useful in today's world, when "impersonal" freight aggregators are developing with might and main, but customers need to be confident in the safety of transportation.

“Scoring of centralized platforms that aggregate drivers on the one hand and cargo owners on the other, with rare exceptions, allows you to quickly “break through” the driver only by some key parameters. Of course, outright violations are identified immediately, but most of the dangers for cargo owners lie in “dormant” situations. For example, a driver has not undergone maintenance on his vehicle for a long time or was seen buying a license, sooner or later this will lead to an accident when a physically worn-out car simply breaks down halfway, and it’s good if this only disrupts an urgent order, and does not ruin someone else’s life. Checking should be carried out immediately at a deep level. Thus, the most disciplined drivers will get more work, which will stimulate natural competition,” said Andrey Savin, commercial director of Traft.

Based on the database of driver's passports, it is planned to actively develop various bonuses for their owners, for example, cumulative discounts on fuel or insurance, if the rating in the accident-free driving category corresponds to higher indicators.
