Independent studio Sunscorched Studios has released a short trailer with clips of Negative Atmosphere gameplay. This is a Dead Space-influenced sci-fi horror game, so fans of the acclaimed series will certainly be interested in taking a look at the introduction video.
By and large, the video shows only a ship flying in the darkness of space, as well as a small scene inside it: the hero walks along a dim corridor and meets an eerie monster. It all ends sadly. At the end of the video, the viewer is informed, "Your survival is unlikely."
Negative Atmosphere with a third-person view is created on Unreal Engine 4. The game will focus on tense atmosphere and tense encounters with enemies. The action will unfold in a universe experiencing the height of the Cold War, in which artificial intelligence was created using organic computing cores.
The main character is Samuel Edwards, a 49-year-old former military medic aboard the long-haul cargo ship TRH Rusanov. A mysterious disease has spread throughout the ship, turning all personnel and robots into disgusting creatures, eager to destroy everything around. Edwards will have to fight his former colleagues and intelligent artificial creatures, as well as avoid the dangers of the environment, in order to eventually leave the ship. As you progress, the mental state of the protagonist will deteriorate, and reality will begin to mix with hallucinations.
There is currently no release date for Negative Atmosphere. However, the team plans to release a demo by the end of 2019. The project was originally created alone, but now a team of 23 people is working on it. The studio accepts donations for . Sponsors are promised early access to demos, materials about the creation of the game and other bonuses.
Considering that the Dead Space series has not shown signs of life since 2013, and Electronic Arts is in no hurry to revive it, fans of the genre can take a closer look at this creation.
