Publisher THQ Nordic and Belarusian studio Weappy presented Rebel Cops, a turn-based tactics game with stealth elements set in the This Is the Police universe. The project will hit the market on September 17 in versions for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. On this occasion, the developers presented a detailed trailer:
In Rebel Cops, players will control a squad of former police officers whose goal is to overthrow the crime lord Viktor Zuev, who has taken over their hometown of Ripton. This is a difficult task - bandits of all stripes and even “human rights activists” will stand in the way, because former colleagues now serve the new owner.
It is advisable to arrest criminals rather than kill them, so players have an arsenal of non-lethal weapons and equipment at their disposal, as well as special tactical skills that can be unlocked as the game progresses. In the event of a shootout, you will have to take into account the lack of health points - here those wounded in battle quickly bleed and die, and a bullet in the head means death. Therefore, all team actions must be carefully planned.
Rebel Cops will not only have missions in tight spaces, but also large locations for exploration - a kind of sandbox levels. The only support is from the residents of Ripton, whose reputation will be very important for the outlawed rebels to earn. If innocents die, and the requests of the residents are ignored or the player does not share the trophies, things will be difficult: the merchants will refuse to deal with the team, and some fighters may leave the squad.
