Three-quarters of SMBs hit by coronavirus

The eWeek resource published the results of a study by SMB Group, which examined the impact of the spread of the new coronavirus on the small and medium-sized business sector. The majority of representatives of the companies surveyed said that the pandemic had harmed their businesses, which, however, was not surprising.

Due to the spread of coronavirus, many small companies are forced to suspend operations and temporarily close their offices and service centers. Of course, this results in financial losses.

Three-quarters of SMBs hit by coronavirus

The study showed that three quarters (75%) of representatives of small and medium-sized companies reported a negative impact of the spread of the disease on business. Another 19% have not yet recorded a negative effect, and 6% could not decide on an answer.

Three-quarters of SMBs hit by coronavirus

Nearly two-thirds of SMB companies expect revenue to decline by 30% or more over the next six months due to the coronavirus.

Companies with fewer than 20 employees may be most affected. More than half of small and medium-sized businesses have already begun to reduce staff or are planning to lay off employees.
