Reese, one of the two main characters of Tales from the Borderlands, appeared for a couple of seconds in the announcement trailer for Borderlands 3. However, his voice actor Troy Baker (Troy Baker) will not return to this role.
This became known after a Reddit user under the pseudonym Josh_J_Anderson personally asked Baker about this at the Supanova Melbourne event. Apparently, no one invited the actor and he did not even know about the appearance of this character in the license plate part of the series.
βSorry to upset you, but it's not me,β Baker replied. βI really wish Gearbox understood that if the developers want to bring Telltaleβs Borderlands characters back, they should bring in the same voice actors.β
Perhaps Baker turned out to be too expensive an actor for Gearbox, and Reese's role is so small that it makes no sense to pay a large fee. Or the voice acting of this character has not even begun yet, and Baker still has a chance to return to him. In any case, we will be able to personally hear the voice of Reese this fall, on September 13, when Borderlands 3 will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (exclusively on the Epic Games Store).
