The Russian company CosmoCours, founded in 2014 as part of the Skolkovo Foundation, spoke about plans to operate spacecraft for tourist flights.
In order to organize tourist space travel, CosmoKurs is developing a complex of a reusable launch vehicle and a reusable spacecraft. In particular, the company independently designs a liquid-propellant rocket engine.
As TASS reports, citing statements by CosmoKurs CEO Pavel Pushkin, the company's tourist spaceships will be able to fly more than ten times.
βThe design multiplicity of use now is about 12 times. It is already clear that some elements have a much higher frequency of use, and not the cheapest elements,β said Mr. Pushkin.
The flight program assumes that tourists will be able to spend 5-6 minutes in zero gravity. Test launches are planned to be organized at the beginning of the next decade. Tickets for customers will cost $200β$250 thousand.
To launch spacecraft, the company plans to build its own cosmodrome in the Nizhny Novgorod region. CosmoKurs, as noted, intends to recycle the spent systems.
