Wizards of the Coast has announced a new type of tournament - Magic: The Gathering Arena Open, by participating in which players can earn valuable in-game rewards and cash prizes. An unlimited prize pool will be available: everyone who wins the required number of wins will receive $2000.
The competition will be held online at the MTG Arena. You can play from home and take breaks between matches to control the pace and intensity of the competition. Pre-qualification is not required.
First day:
- beginning on May 30 at 18:00 Moscow time;
- the cost of participation is 20000 gold or 4000 gems;
- format "Standard", 1 round;
- up to 7 wins or 3 losses;
- each player with 7 wins will receive 2000 gems and a pass to the next day of the competition.
Second day:
- beginning on May 31 at 18:00 Moscow time;
- Only players with 7 wins on the first day can participate;
- format "Standard", 3 rounds;
- up to 7 wins or 3 losses;
- each player with 7 wins will receive $2000;
- the number of winners is not limited.

On May 21, 27 new maps and ranked queues for the Historic format were added to the game, now available at any time; Cube Draft format, in which players will build decks for the Draft format from 555 cards from all sets.
