According to Google, the failure occurred yesterday, June 2. Mostly the problem affected the east coast of the United States. For Ukrainian and Russian users, there was no problem, although some complained about the long opening of the pages and the inability to download videos.

β€œWe are experiencing high levels of network congestion in the eastern US. This affected several services including Google Cloud, GSuite and YouTube. Users may notice slow performance or errors. We believe that we have found the root cause of the overload and will soon be able to return to work, ”Google representatives said, commenting on the situation.

Yesterday at approximately 7:00 AM ET (12:00 Moscow time), the company reported that the problem was resolved, although they did not give a full description of the reasons for the failure. Along the way, the search giant clarified that it will carry out the necessary work so that this does not happen again in the future.

Note that in October last year, similar problems arose with the YouTube service, and in November with other Google services. In addition, in late 2018 and early 2019, the Nest service also experienced a number of outages.
