Head of Ubisoft Animation Studio Pierre Jacquet (Pierrot Jacquet) noted that the studio chose to work with Blender because of the strong and open community. β€œBlender was the obvious choice for us. The openness and strength of the community, combined with the vision of the Blender Development Fund, make it one of the most creative tools on the market,” Jacquet said.

β€œI have always admired Ubisoft as one of the leading game developers. I look forward to working together. I want to help them find their way as a contributor to our Blender open source projects,” said Blender Founder and Chairman Ton Roosendaal.

Ubisoft isn't the first company to come out in support of Blender. Previously, the fund supported Epic Games, which allocated $ 1,2 million for the development of the company.

Blender is a free 3D editor for professional graphics work. Initially, it was distributed exclusively through Steam, but since November 20, 2018, it can also be downloaded from the Microsoft Store.
