For users of previous branches of Ubuntu, deb packages will continue to be provided for some time, but eventually only snap packages will be left for them. Chromium deb package users will be provided with a transparent transition process to snap by publishing a final update that will install the snap package and migrate the current settings from the $HOME/.config/chromium directory.
