The Chinese company OPPO today, April 10, introduced a flagship smartphone under the new Reno brand - the Reno 10x Zoom Edition with a number of unique features.
As expected, the novelty received a non-standard retractable camera: an original mechanism was used that lifts one of the side parts of a rather large module. It contains a 16-megapixel sensor and flash; maximum aperture - f / 2,0. The module is claimed to slide out of the case in just 0,8 seconds.
The main camera received a 10x hybrid optical zoom. The triple unit combines a 48MP module with a Sony IMX586 sensor and a maximum aperture of f/1,7, an additional 13MP module with a maximum aperture of f/3,0, and an 8MP module with a wide-angle optics (120 degrees) and a maximum aperture of f/ 2,2. The optical stabilization system, laser autofocus and phase detection autofocus are mentioned.
A 6,6-inch Full HD + (2340 Γ 1080 pixels) AMOLED display with 100% coverage of the NTSC color space is used. Protection against damage is provided by Corning Gorilla Glass 6. A fingerprint scanner is integrated into the screen area.
The device carries on board the Snapdragon 855 processor, which combines eight Kryo 485 cores with a clock speed of 1,80 GHz to 2,84 GHz and an Adreno 640 graphics accelerator.
The equipment includes Wi-Fi 802.11ac 2 Γ 2 MU-MIMO and Bluetooth 5 adapters, a GPS / GLONASS / Beidou receiver, an NFC module, a USB Type-C port, a high-quality Hi-Res Audio system and three microphones.
Responsible for power is a 4065 mAh battery with support for fast charging. Dimensions are 162,0 Γ 77,2 Γ 9,3 mm, weight - 210 grams. The operating system is ColorOS 6.0 based on Android 9.0 (Pie).
The Reno 10x Zoom Edition smartphone will be offered in black and green color options in the following versions:
- 6 GB RAM and 128 GB flash drive - $600;
- 6 GB RAM and 256 GB flash drive - $670;
- 8 GB RAM and 256 GB flash drive - $715.
Sales of new items will begin in mid-May. Later, a version of the smartphone will be released with support for fifth-generation mobile networks (5G).
