ExoMars 2020 mission transition system successfully tested

Scientific-Production Association named after. S.A. Lavochkin" (JSC "NPO Lavochkina"), according to TASS, spoke about the work carried out as part of the ExoMars-2020 mission.

Recall that the Russian-European ExoMars project is being implemented in two stages. In 2016, a spacecraft set off for the Red Planet, including the TGO orbiter and the Schiaparelli descent module. The first successfully collects data, and the second, unfortunately, crashed during landing.

The ExoMars-2020 phase provides for the launch of a Russian landing platform with a European robotic rover on board. The launch is scheduled for July next year using the Proton-M launch vehicle and the Breeze-M upper stage.

As it is now reported, the specialists have successfully completed tests of the transitional system of the Proton-M carrier, necessary for the launch of the ExoMars-2020 mission. It is designed to attach the spacecraft to the rocket.

Meanwhile, at the end of March, it was reported that the Information Satellite Systems company named after academician M.F. Reshetnev completed work on the manufacture of flight equipment for the ExoMars-2020 mission. Specialists created a complex for automation and voltage stabilization of the power supply system, and also made an on-board cable network. They are designed to provide electricity to the landing module, which will become part of the project's spacecraft.
